Prowess
Your character’s Prowess is determined by their level (see /professions/overview.md for the full 12-level progression framework) and represents their growing skill and expertise. Monsters also have a Prowess value, which is built into their abilities. When your character is able to add their Prowess to a roll, it means they are trained in that particular skill, ability, or weapon. Your character will use their Prowess to enhance Trials and attacks.
Your character can only add their Prowess to a single roll once. For example, if two features tell you to add your character’s Prowess to a Trial, you only add it once.
Some features may modify your character’s Prowess, such as doubling or halving it for specific rolls. When this happens, calculate the adjustment and apply it only once, even if multiple effects suggest modifying your character’s Prowess.
If a roll doesn’t normally benefit from your character’s Prowess, features that multiply it still won’t apply, because the base value is zero. For example, if your character isn’t trained in Nimble, doubling their Prowess on Nimble (Agility) Trials still results in no bonus.
In most cases, your character’s Prowess is not multiplied for attack rolls. If a feature allows this exception, the same rule applies: calculate it once and add it once.
